Good, I always enjoy your build threads, we need more of them! TBH I've even thought of buying a hufschmid guitar, and not because he has tried to sell them, but the level of craftsmanship and detail is something I would like to have. He lets his guitars speak for themselves, and they have all been incredible instruments, same as almost everyone on here, Chris included.

Patrick, for what it's worth, I love looking at your threads.

Just about everyone who posts on these boards posts 'Build #14 - Coco-Cedar' or something to that effect. Which is usually followed by lots of ooh's and aaah's. I don't see why anyone should expect you to behave differently. Please keep them coming!

I took it to be the equivalent of "from my personal stash"

A lot of folks have some 'special' wood stashed away, waiting for that special project.

I have wood squirreled away in my own little stash, call it my private stock if you will, but if someone offers me enough money, it becomes public stock.

I have never understood this. Personal stash means for for personal use. But it obviously is not - seems very dishonest to say the wood is reserved for personal use, then use it in what is a common production item which anyone can buy.

So you're house isn't for sale, but if someone came and offered you 2 times market value on it, would you sell it? I know I would, is that dishonest?

The analogy is a stretch, but let's play: Had I previously stated that my rather mundane home, built from commonly available materials to a generic design, and just like very other home the builder completed, was not available for sale at any price?


Please direct me to where he said it was not for sale at any price, then we can address your point, but until then, just because you say something is your own private stash, does not mean it isn't for sale at a certain price.

It's not that difficult of a concept really. People change their minds all the time. And even if he is using as a marketing term, what is the problem with that? A lot of companies even do that as part of their brand, using terms like "Private Reserve".

And I also read the thread top to bottom, and after Fillipos response, I went back and read it again. It still came across to me as an indirect shot at Pat..

But hey, that's me, and I'm obviously too clueless to understand what I read here, so carry on...

private stock = timbers I have collected over the last 16 years of activity... = In my case, I dont see how this can be a marketing term... yes, I do have a private stock of wood for special occasions... eek
