Good, I always enjoy your build threads, we need more of them! TBH I've even thought of buying a hufschmid guitar, and not because he has tried to sell them, but the level of craftsmanship and detail is something I would like to have. He lets his guitars speak for themselves, and they have all been incredible instruments, same as almost everyone on here, Chris included.

Lets bring it down a notch folks.

Personally I love seeing his guitars. Very inspiring.

I'm just finally sick of seeing threads where the first post just shows the guitar waiting for parts and this becomes a habit. Perhaps instead, take this as a call to be more adventurous and also show more of your process instead.

I therfore invite you to check out the topics I posted in which I share the entire building step by step + this video I once posted to share publically the way I build my guitars...

I don't think its humanly possible to be more adventurous then this... close to 350 pictures I took, edited and took the time to link up to image shack and pasted the links one by one in that topic...

Or maybe you simply did not see that topic and the other similar ones I have posted?

In that case, please check all my posts and building techniques and pictures I am sharing before commenting the way you did...

I believe the term he put was "private neck stock".

Patrick, for what it's worth, I love looking at your threads.

Just about everyone who posts on these boards posts 'Build #14 - Coco-Cedar' or something to that effect. Which is usually followed by lots of ooh's and aaah's. I don't see why anyone should expect you to behave differently. Please keep them coming!

I took it to be the equivalent of "from my personal stash"

A lot of folks have some 'special' wood stashed away, waiting for that special project.

I have wood squirreled away in my own little stash, call it my private stock if you will, but if someone offers me enough money, it becomes public stock.

Actually, I took it the same way he did. It did come across as you taking a shot at Pat.

I have never understood this. Personal stash means for for personal use. But it obviously is not - seems very dishonest to say the wood is reserved for personal use, then use it in what is a common production item which anyone can buy.

So you're house isn't for sale, but if someone came and offered you 2 times market value on it, would you sell it? I know I would, is that dishonest?

Read in order, The post above this makes no mention of private stock. No psychology being used, just common sense.

The analogy is a stretch, but let's play: Had I previously stated that my rather mundane home, built from commonly available materials to a generic design, and just like very other home the builder completed, was not available for sale at any price?

Please direct me to where he said it was not for sale at any price, then we can address your point, but until then, just because you say something is your own private stash, does not mean it isn't for sale at a certain price.

Where did Pat go?

I think most of his activity on this forum is marketing. But that's just my take. Not saying he's evil or anything.

Jimmy ... read the thread in order. If you need help, feel free to PM.

Filippo,
I believe you are mistaken as to which post we are referring to, I believe me and the other gentleman are referring specifically to this post.

In regards to you coming across like you're trying to pick his posts apart. Likewise feel free to PM to clear up any confusion.

It's not that difficult of a concept really. People change their minds all the time. And even if he is using as a marketing term, what is the problem with that? A lot of companies even do that as part of their brand, using terms like "Private Reserve".

And I also read the thread top to bottom, and after Fillipos response, I went back and read it again. It still came across to me as an indirect shot at Pat..

But hey, that's me, and I'm obviously too clueless to understand what I read here, so carry on...

P.S. Feel free to nominate me for the dufus award

What a train wreck. Just don't read the thread if you don't want to read it. It's not bothering me. I can skip it if I want to. Some of us enjoy seeing what other people are up to, even if the cognoscenti feel it's repetitive or somehow not up to some standard of posting.

private stock = timbers I have collected over the last 16 years of activity... = In my case, I dont see how this can be a marketing term... yes, I do have a private stock of wood for special occasions... eek

And again, I am not a company...

What is wrong with you guys ?

Pat is here posting nice pictures of pretty boards and guitars being built from them.
If you think the posts are too commercial, don't click on them.
