Really enjoyed that, Todd. What is the back-angle on that slot? Do you think it could be achieved by just shimming an appropriate thickness under the front edge rail of a router jig? I would like to try the angled slot but don't want to make a new slotting jig. Thanks for showing it and enjoy your exhibition!

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, Beth. I couldn't remember for sure what that angle was, and I kept forgetting to check it for you. Anyway, it's 10 degrees. But, you know, it's really not an exact science. It just needs to be an approximation of the appropriate angle to get the strings to push the saddle down into the slot with minimal forward pull toward the front of the slot.

As for your question about method, I would think you could do it the way you suggest, but it's hard for me to say what would work well for you with the jig you already have. You just have to think through the geometry of it and then try it and see how it works. Good luck!

I thought about it, & I don't think it would work so well because the area of entry would be messed up by the vertical entry of the slanted bit. I'm pretty sure you need to shim the bridge somehow. Unless of course, you devise a way to lower the router on the same axis as the bit.
