I'd do a 13 fretter just cause it is cool. But if I was dead set on a 14 fretter, I'd probably make a bigger rosette. But I would have to measure everything out to make sure it would cover it. Good luck!

After reading all the info here I think I would go with a 12 fret/20 fretter. That's how Martin does it's 000. It would make a sweet guitar. With a 24.9 scale the guitar will measure about 5.4" from the 12th fret to the 21 fret (end of fingerboard) and about 7.3" from the 12th to the center of the sound hole. Yep! That should do it!

Another suggestion I got today is to go 12 frets with a sloped shoulder.
As far as playability, is it harder to get used to a 13 vs 12 fret?
I must admit that I`m not a bona fide guitar player yet but I`m the only piano player in town, so please don`t shoot me.

Serge,

Sure, it has strings. The only difference is you have to lay on the ground to tune them... I suppose that's not so bad if you are tired....

I would like to add an inexperienced thought. If, in whatever you choose, you have to cut out the sound hole through the knot, or rout through it for the rosette, I would sure soak it well in CA to try and keep it from chipping apart.
