Okay, glued a bridge on, using a damp paper towel to clean away the squeeze out...thought I had it all, but now I notice a thin film of glue along the back side of the bridge...not a glue line, but a "smear" running along the back edge of the bridge exactly, or almost exactly, the width of my index finger...how to go without removing my finish?

If it's Titebond I agree with Hesh it should come off as it Shouldn't adhere to the finish very well.

Sweet! Now, I should start another thread on this, but since I have you here...the file ordeal has left me with a slightly loose bridge pin that wants to pop up when the string's at pitch...I've always had pins fit too tight if anything...what's the normal fix here?

Put the file back in - that should keep the string in nice and snug

Larry,

Frank Ford has a procedure on his web site about fitting an end pin that's too tight. It should work on bridge pins also.

WHOA! Just wick a little superglue into it (if you're careful, you can use a Q-tip)

Put rag inside guitar

BEOFRE applying superglue to Q-tip, rotate Q-tip between fingers to pack the fibers in. (Loose fibers cause the superglue to flash dry too quickly)

Charge with superglue and wick it in.

Woolson & I have had this work well for us.

Dip the peg in superglue and let it dry. Add as many coats as needed. (never tried this but it sounds good to me)
